training for local practices takes place in the building from time to time.
RECEPTIONISTS
Our receptionists do a difficult
job very well. Please remember that if you do need to be kept waiting or seem
to be asked one or two irritating questions, they are only carrying out our instructions
to them to help the practice run smoothly. They try to keep both the doctors and
the patients happy! This is not easy - please be patient!

nurse practitioner will be triaged initially by the triage nurse. Please contact the surgery in the normal way
giving our receptionist an idea of your medical problem. Your details will be passed on to the triage nurse who
will contact you by telephone and offer you the correct level of service for your particular problem:
- Advice only
- A prescription
- Appointment (same day or routine) with a doctor or nurse
COMMUNITY NURSES (District Nurses)
Patients who are confined to their homes and who need nursing assistance may arrange with their doctors for a community nurse - Jackie Robson and her team, Jo Godman, Julie Walkling and HCA Hayley Hempstead - to call. The hospital will normally arrange for a nurse to call on patients discharged early and who still require nursing treatment at home. The community nurses also carry out assessments on our patients over 75 years old who are housebound.
HEALTH VISITORS
To contact them phone (01634) 717755 or call in to The Keystone Centre in nearby Gun Lane.
