The Monday duty doctor is done on rotation. These arrangements may
alter when a partner is on holiday or study leave.
CLOSING TIMES
The building is closed between 1.00 and 2.00pm on the second Thursday of every month. This is to allow
time for staff meetings and training on important issues and changes within the National Health Service. This in
turn helps us to provide the best service to you, the patient.
OUT-OF-HOURS EMERGENCIES
For urgent advice or to see a doctor out of hours and at weekends,
please telephone (01634) 891855. Out-of-hours cover is provided by Medway On-call Care, a local
GP-run co-operative service. This is available for urgent problems only.

When you need to see a doctor out-of-hours you will normally be
expected to attend the Medway On-call Care base in Chatham Maritime Centre where they have equipment for tests and
special treatment. Home visits will only be made by a doctor when the doctor decides you are too ill to travel. It
may not always be possible to see your own doctor out of hours. Reasons other than ill health (eg no transport)
are not generally considered when deciding whether a visit is needed.
DISABLED ACCESS
There is wheelchair access and a disabled toilet. Babies and young
children are catered for with a pram park near the front entrance and a play area in the waiting room. The
practice also has a loop amplifier system at reception to aid those patients who are hard of hearing and wear a
hearing aid.
NOTICEBOARD
We have a noticeboard displayed in the reception area which
shows the times of all surgeries and clinics, as well as indicating annual leave when appropriate.
